Haydn
On this Studio Lied website, we introduce you to the Cypress String Quartet (CSQ) and then invite you to browse the website in your own way. The materials focus on the four composers that are part of the CSQ's performance program -- Beethoven, Haydn, Griffes, and Coleman -- and are structured around the ideas of culture and fame. How do cultures influence artists? How do artists influence cultures? What makes an artist famous - is it the artist's genius, or just a matter of being at the right place at the right time? How do cultures influence one another?
