Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, rooted in the African-American experience, is recognized as one of the top contemporary dance companies in the U.S. The Jacob Lawrence Project is a modern dance trilogy inspired by the paintings of Jacob Lawrence, one of the greatest African-American painters of the 20th century. With choreography by Donald Byrd, Rennie Harris and Reggie Wilson, this performance will bring the rhythm, energy, motion and color of Lawrenceâs work to life onstage by the company that is critically acclaimed for their artistic excellence of both classic and new works.
