We hope these materials open doors, spark your exploration of theater and the world around you, and most of all, enhance your enjoyment of Miami City Ballet in Don Quixote .
Studio Lied
Studio Lied is an integrated program for secondary students and their
teachers, as well as all those interested in learning
more about the artists, the art form and the creative process or the theme of this performance.
As part of the Adventures
in Imagination program, Studio Lied includes opportunities such as interaction with the performers, discussions related to performances
and online study materials, as well as the Lied Center performances. The Studio Lied program for Miami City Ballet in Don Quixote includes the following opportunities:

A pre-performance dinner of Spanish tapas on November 4, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the Lied Center's Seymour Galler. Call 785.864.2787 for reservations.
A public lecture at 6:30 pm at the Lied Center. A separate lecture will accompany the pre-performance dinner.
A public performance by Miami City Ballet in Don Quixote on Saturday, Novemberber 4, 2006, at 7:30 p.m., at the Lied Center.

On this Studio Lied website, you will learn about the director, company and performance of the Miami City Ballet in Don Quixote. You will also become more familiar with Cervantes, aurhor of the original work on which the play is based, as well as the work itself, commonly known as Don Quixote de la Mancha. Also included in this site are opportunities to interact and consider your own ideas on issues related to this performance or performance art in general.Navigate

The artists in this year’s Studio Lied performances come from many artistic and cultural backgrounds.
The theme will vary with each performance and will lend itself to a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities, which we will support with activities on this site and with other websites to explore. Studio Lied performances offer exciting gateways through which to expand awareness of performing arts and the connection of the arts to all areas of life, as well as the value of the arts to people everywhere.
