Who are the Friends of the Lied?
The Lied Center of Kansas engages and entertains nearly 30,000 patrons and numerous artists each season by presenting a variety of world-class performances. However, ticket revenues cover only 40% of the costs associated with these bringing these award-winning artists and related education and outreach programs to northeast Kansas.
Contributions from the Friends of the Lied – those dedicated individuals and community-minded business leaders who value the arts – play a pivotal role in providing additional financial support that enables the Lied Center to integrate the performing arts into community life by providing innovative arts experiences. Through their generous annual gifts, the Friends of the Lied help underwrite a rich array of programs, both on and beyond the stage.
