Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan
Tuesday, October 16 - 7:30 p.m.
Liquid, lyrical dance inspired by Chinese calligraphy, Wild Cursive, The final Chapter of Cursive: A Trilogy, is the result of a long journey into ancient practices. Setting a backdrop to the powerful performances of the dancers, streams of white rice paper cascade to the floor. Black ink seeps onto the paper almost imperceptibly as the dancers echo the serpentine lines of the ink. Under the artistic direction of choreographer Mr. Lin Hwai-min, Cloud Gate's repertoire has its roots in Asian myths, folklore and aesthetics. Running time: 70 minutes (no intermission)
