Ticket sales at the Lied Center only provide 40% of the funds necessary to bring the world class artists to Lawrence and help the Lied Center to fulfill its mission of presentation, education, research and public engagement. The Friends of the Lied are generous individuals and area businesses whose financial contributions are critical to the Lied Center and make Lawrence such a rich place to live. Your generous donation will:
• Continue the high quality artists and performances the Lied Center is known for
• Provide opportunities for community residents and students to interact with visiting artists through free outreach and educational programs
• Broaden the artistic horizons of the youth in our community
• Empower the Lied Center to connect with audiences of the future
The benefits for all levels of membership can be viewed below. All gifts to the Friends of the Lied are tax deductible, and individual memberships with benefits start at just $50. Join the Friends of the Lied today!

"There is no better indicator of the spiritual health of our city, its neighborhoods, and the larger region than the state of the arts. The arts deepen our understanding of the human spirit, extend our capacity to comprehend the lives of others, allows us to imagine a more just and humane world. Through their diversity of feeling, their variety of form, their multiplicity of inspiration, the arts make our culture richer and more reflective".
– Jonathan Fanton, President of the MacArthur Foundation
