The Lied Center of Kansas is delighted to present its engaging and entertaining 2008-09 schedule.

• April 7: 2008-09 Lied Series subscription packages go on sale.
• June 9: Single-performance tickets go on sale to Friends of the Lied and current Series Subscribers.
• June 16: Single-performance tickets go on sale to the general public.
The Lied Center Series is composed of the Concert Series (founded in 1903), the Swarthout Music Series (1947), the New Directions Series (1987), the Broadway Series (1994), the Lied Family Series (1996) and the World Series (2000).
Even though the excitement has begun for the wonderful events of the 2008-09 season, there are still some of the best and brightest shows left for 2007-08!
• April 8: Hit the high seas with Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore.
• April 10: Venezuelan piano master Gabriela Montero plays a classical repertoire, then you can help her create an improvisational program based on your suggestions.
• April 12: Opera has never rocked like this! EVOC takes the stage to perform some of the world's best-known arias — with a string quartet, two singers and a five-piece rock band.
• May 1: Conceived by celebrated choreographer Twyla Tharp, Movin' Out is the story of a group of friends growing up on Long Island during the 1960s told through the legendary songs of Billy Joel.
From K-10:
Once in Lawrence, K-10 becomes 23rd Street. Follow 23rd Street west until it intersects with Iowa and turn right. Turn left at 19th Street and then turn right onto Constant Avenue. Drive straight and the Lied Center will be directly in front of you.
From I-70:
Take the West Lawrence Exit (Exit 202). Follow Iowa Street until it intersects with 15th Street/Bob Billings Parkway, then turn right. At the light turn left onto Crestline Drive. At the top of the hill turn left again onto Petefish Drive. The Lied Center will be directly in front of you.
