Members of the company will use creative movement to demonstrate how dance may be used as a way to encourage self-expression and personal responsibility. Students who may be released from the Detention Center will attend the performance at no cost.

This project is a continuation of the Lied Center’s commitment to providing students at the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center opportunities to interact with selected artists and their works. Participating artists must have previous experience working with students at-risk, and be able to explore their art form while addressing pertinent issues to the students. Residency workshops can include working on encouraging positive self-expression, developing life strategies and team building.
